Who We Are

Since 1885, Oak Grove Christian Church has been serving Christ in the heart of Powder Branch. Rooted in God’s Word and the mission of making disciples who make disciples, we are a family of believers committed to glorifying God, growing in faith, and sharing the love of Jesus with our community and beyond.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a community of disciples who make disciples, following the example of Jesus and multiplying His mission in our world. We long to see every believer equipped and empowered to share the gospel, walk alongside others in their faith, and raise up new leaders who carry the light of Christ. By living relationally, teaching faithfully, and serving sacrificially, we seek to cultivate a movement where discipleship is not a program, but a way of life. Through this, we aspire to see generations transformed, the church strengthened, and the nations reached with the good news of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

These are the core beliefs of Oak Grove Christian Church, based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible.

All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe there is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

(Matthew 3:16-7, John 14:9-10)

We believe that Jesus Christ is God's only Son and Savior of the world. It is only through faith in Christ that we are made right with God.

(John 3:16, Matthew 1:18, John 20:24-31)

We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every Christian. He works to convict, empower and equip us for our ministry here on earth.

(John 16:5-15)

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. the Bible is our final authority for all matters of faith.

(Romans 15:4, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16)

We believe the Church is the visible body of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere, designed to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

(Matthew 16:13-18, Acts 2:14-47)

We believe that man and woman, created by God, willfully sinned, and as a result, are lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.

(Acts 4:12, Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:17)

We believe salvation (the forgiveness of sins) comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us (His death upon the cross). The Bible teaches us that the pattern of Salvation is to believe in Christ as God's Son and Savior of the world, to repent (ask for forgiveness) of personal sin, to confess Christ as Lord (ask Him to lead your life), and to be immersed in baptism.

(Matthew 26:28, Romans 5:8-11, Ephesians 2:8-9, Luke 24:45-47, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-7, 2 Peter 3:9)

We believe death seals the eternal destiny of each person. The saved will inherit eternal life; the unsaved, eternal separation from God.

(Romans 8:10-11, Daniel 12:2, John 6:47)

We believe the Bible teaches that God intends marriage to be a monogamous, life-long, loving relationship between a man and a woman and that His design for sex is exclusively within the context of a Biblical marriage.

(Genesis 1:28, 2:24, 9:7, Matthew 19:6)

We believe it is God's plan for the elders to shepherd the local church. OGCC is an elder led church.

(Acts 20:28, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4)
