Rooted Families Book Club

A space for parents to grow in faith—and guide their families to do the same.

As parents, we know how busy life can be. That’s why we’ve created a once-a-month book club for young families here at Oak Grove Christian Church—a space to slow down, connect, and grow together.

Each month, we’ll walk through a book designed to help families build healthy, gospel-centered homes. We’ll take care of the details—your book, a meal, and childcare are all provided. All you have to do is come, enjoy, and be encouraged.

Even if you’re not a parent yet—maybe you’re expecting or simply planning for the future—you’re welcome to join us, find community, and start building your village.

Our first meeting will be January 15th, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

A New Gathering for Young Families

Introducing the Rooted Families Book Club—a new monthly gathering for young families! You’ll receive a free book to keep—we just ask that you sign up in advance, so we know how many copies to prepare. We know it can be hard for parents to find time to read, so we’ll only discuss a few chapters each month, allowing us to slowly and intentionally work through each book.

Our first meeting will be a special opportunity to pick up your book and get to know other families in the club. Childcare is provided at the church by our safe and qualified caregivers, where your little ones can play, make friends, and enjoy a snack while you join the discussion. Food is also provided for all attendees, so you can relax and enjoy the evening without extra stress.

No matter what your family looks like—whether you’re expecting, a single parent, or planning for the future—you are welcome here. This is a space for families to gather, learn, and grow together in faith.

Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family

Sometimes parents wish there was a guaranteed formula for raising good kids—a certain list of rules to follow to ensure they’d have obedient children. But if moms and dads view their role through the lens of God’s grace, they will see that the gospel must first shape how they parent before they can effectively shape their children.

In the bestselling book Parenting, Paul David Tripp unfolds a more biblical perspective on parenting than merely adhering to a list of rules. He lays out 14 gospel-centered principles that will radically change the way parents think about what it means to raise up a child, informing everything they do as a parent. This edition includes a section of engaging study questions for every chapter, helping individuals and groups reflect on each topic in greater depth.
